Let's take a closer look
The fortress is a modular design which is constructed from six sections which are held together with Technic pins. It is constructed from many Lego bricks, slopes and plates.
The fortress at Helms Deep appears highly detailed and realistic as is made up of a variety of specially designed Lego bricks that make the walls appear aged. These include sand green pieces, grey brick wall pieces and slanted battlement pieces.
The gatehouse is also highly detailed and includes lots of side curved pieces of Lego.
The stream includes both regular blue and transparent blue Lego bricks which do help it to appear more realistic.
The tower is 3 stories tall and uses stickers on the front to add detail. The tower also includes the Horn of Helm Hammerhand.
There is also a keep with a throne room inside as well as a small table and chairs.
There are lots of interesting extras included in this Lego play set. These include a Winch which really does make the wall explode just like in the movie and a catapult which is really able to launch minifigures into the Uruk-hai Army.
This play set also includes many other accessories including 2 new swords, 2 spears, a throne, a table, plate, cups, food, torches, a castle rat and Rohan Flag.
This play set includes 8 detailed minifigures.
Characters include King Theoden who is designed really well and possibly the best designed Lego minifigure we have ever seen! He has a detailed helmet and armour and his own horse with posable rear legs.
There is also Gimli who also has a detailed helmet, Haldir who has his own cape and Aragorn. There are 3 Uruk-hai soldiers and a Berserker with the torch to activate the "bomb". King Theoden and Haldir and totally exclusive to this Lego set.
Is The Battle of Helms Deep a good toy for my child?
The Battle of Helms Deep is an excellent Lego play set that any Lord of the Rings fan will love. It is well designed, highly detailed and great fun to play with!
There is plenty of space for playing as many of the figures can be arranged along the fortress walls, in the keep and on the entrance ramp.
Older children will love getting involved in their own role play battles - they might choose to deter the enemy with the catapult, explode the wall or climb up the tower to blow The Horn of Helm Hammerhand. There is definitely many hours of entertainment to be had with this fantastic Lego play set.
